Thank You, Alpha XI Delta
Let me tell you a story about a girl. In high school, she had her small group of friends, never participated in school events, and was horrible in school. She was depressed and lonely, but too scared to do anything to fix it. Graduation came and went and all summer long this girl was scared college would be just like high school or even worse.
She started college and a few weeks in decided to go through Fall Recruitment with the hopes of joining a sorority. That girl was me and she joined Alpha Xi Delta and it was the best thing in her life.
Thank you Boise State and Alpha Xi Delta. It hasn’t even been a full year, but you’ve changed my life. For starters my grades. You keep me at such a high standard and I don’t want to let you down. I’m trying, really trying in school for the first time. Thank you for the wonderful women in my life. Everyday they inspire me and help me be a better person. I have so much love for every girl in my chapter. Thank you for my Big. She’s amazing and every time I hang out with her I feel so lucky to be her Little. Thank you for my roommates, we all live in a sorority house together and they made me feel so at home when I moved in at semester. Thank you for filling up my calendar. In high school I had nothing to do with my time, I was tired and lazy and hopeless, but not anymore. Thank you Alpha Xi Delta for giving me the college experience I always wanted.
If there is one girl somewhere out there reading this, join a sorority. You don’t have to be blonde or girly, super loud and outspoken. I’m definitely not. I have met so many different types of girls from so many places. Some are a lot like me and some are so different, but it doesn’t matter. They are my sisters for life and have been the best support system I’ve ever had.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Alpha Xi Delta. You are my home.
